Moderation Policy Update for Early Access,
We've seen a few concerns regarding how moderation is going to work now that players have paid money to access the game. During our previous Open Alpha phase, we handled this inconsistently and disorganized, sometimes applying full bans that completely disabled player's accounts with little or no warning. In total, about 200 out of 50,000 free accounts ever had some type of ban applied.
For Early Access, we have now completely restructured how online play and bans will be handled, most importantly:
The previous Fair Play Rules are no longer relevant and have been removed.,
Almost all account bans based on the previous Fair Play Rules have been removed with rare exceptions where individuals posed genuine danger to the community.,
Playing on private servers with your friends is no longer subject to any global moderation, and joining private servers you found on the internet will be at your own risk.,
Playing on private servers will still be possible even if your account has been blocked from the services.,
It is not necessary to use our server list to play the game with your friends. If you choose to do so, publishing a server on our server list, playing on a published server, or publishing creations to the Gallery is subject to the Terms of Service. Your access to these services may still be disabled for breaches of the terms.
In case of such a breach, we will clearly inform you of the reason on your account page. If possible, we will allow you to rectify it, following a simple 1 day > 1 week > 1 month > 1 year > permanent ban escalation policy. If there are no further breaches within two years, the escalation will reset.
We've also seen some claims that users could get banned from the game for complaining about bugs, asking about future features like modding support, or participating in adult communities outside of the game. That has never been the case, and such claims are complete fabrication.
We hope this will ease your concerns about losing access to the game due to a single mistake, as that is really not our intention. Thanks!
