The Brickadia Controversy - Post your issues here
- Level 7
- Edited
This topic was made so people can post their complains/crtitics regarding the game and its moderation.
Why was it made? The goal of this forum is to focus on community content ant players creations, not on dramas regarding the brickadia moderation. We do not want the forums to become a brickadia discord 2. Now, complains about the game will be posted here by everyone who need it, old topics and posts about the same subject merged into this one only.
=> Remember: A complain will be valid and kept only if you provide proofs of what happened to you, the objective is not to freely shittalk about the moderation or personal biais.
=> Attacking someone based on their personality/genres will not be tolerated and the posts will be removed.

Maybe they should focus their moderation efforts elsewhere, from what I have heard over the years

Have you tried putting in a ban appeal, asking for the evidence of anything you were doing?
I still have no idea whats going on but it couldn't hurt?

BunnyQueen Well this is the original mail i have recieved:
"Hello.
Regretfully, it has come to our attention that you have been using an alternate account to evade your existing game ban.
Your alternate account has been banned.
In light of this continued rule breaking behavior during your existing ban, we have made the decision to extend this ban permanently into the Early Access launch.
Should you decide to purchase the game at launch, you will only be able to play single player and not interact with any online services. Thanks,
The Brickadia Team"
this was around 25 hours ago.
I have since sent them more answers asking if it was possible to at least reconsider the EA thing.
"Could you at least answer? I understand you banned agreenseed but i think ea ban is way too much. I remember you saying this: "Hi, to clarify: the current bans apply to the free alpha phase, everyone will be able to purchase the game once early access launches." So thanks you to consider changing your opinion on that. And i would like to be in and play like a normal person. Regards"
I have since got no answer. My guess is they are going on another ghosting route. I also need to say it came to my attention that some people got their own alts banned, and they are not banned from EA. What does this mean? it mean they invent new rules to keep me out of EA just because i am dingo.
I do not think they will answer, why acting like this? I still dont know...

Sorry to hear that man. Bummer it sounds like we won't see you working on the city much more. Do you have any other creative outlets that we could keep up with?

DingoAnanas It is sadly, a shame that some parts of the community have constantly tried to slander Rothary, I, and some more people, into an infernal circle of lies, defamation and others bad things that do not need to be detailed here.
People have to understand that everybody can have bad moments of temper and sometimes do mistakes. Not everyone has to like you, but i do not think i really understand the continuous bashing over the years, long after the initial issues were taken in consideration and eventually fixed with the said parties. I suppose harassing others people online is so easy, individuals feel stronger when in groups.
There is a cult-like following especially among the "nostalgia junkies" who tout Brickadia as the Spiritual Blockland Successor without ever demonstrating what that even means. Usually these people don't even understand how add-ons work. Once a week like clockwork there's someone who randomly opens Blockland again, promotes Brickadia and then I predictably find out they know nothing about how add-ons work. There is an even stranger cohort of people that actually knows how to code (and did so in Blockland) and huffs hopium for Brickadia's non-existent mod system, Coming Soonâ„¢.
I am reminded of the map removal cult from Blockland in 2012 -- the developer(s) even joined in or stoked the flames of the infantilization campaign, such as by deeming users who wanted to retain maps and interiors as babies who don't like change.
Free dinner if you can find the "me no like change" caveman image.
So the analog between Blockland's map removal and Brickadia in general would be: adding fancy features that help sell the game in the short term but don't actually create long-term success and popularity.
DingoAnanas One regret i will have is the decision to close the Alpha to external players, it forbide new people from enjoying the game, and i believe the community started to shift into several polarized groups of people, sometimes hating others for reasons they do not even understand anymore. Lets hope Brickadia doesnt end like splitgate 2, because you know...
What's wrong with Splitgate 2? I imagine all the normal consoomer trash that publishers put out?
So you wouldn't be able to privately invite other players to play on your private server? I'm almost willing to draw it up to their not yet developing a policy for a situation like this but they specifically mentioned you won't be able to interact with any online services.
How is a ban permanent if it's meant to only be for the duration Early Access?
I'm laughing so hard because these people will talk endlessly about how Badspot is so horrible but they already managed to make Badspot look like an angel. Usually they say they're mad that there's no global moderation and then we find out, such as in Blockland Rebuilt's case, it's because they want to actually prevent their own users from interacting with people whom they hate. These people aren't adults. (That the Rebuilt sphere overlaps with the Brickadia sphere really makes you think)
One day, we will welcome you back home, Sylvanor.

I wish everyone great luck in getting this possibly resolved, hopefully we can all be together one day as friends, enjoying this game in peace. I'd like to be optimistic.. for how much that matters. :/

Queuenard Yes they are literally fascists. They refuse to answer anything the moment they decided you were a nuisance to them, even if they have no proofs or its based upon lies.
Grox Yeah maybe if someday the devs are AT LEAST reachable to try to fix issues. The whole team ghosted/blocked rothary and i.
is any of you working in a field related to legal things in america
Ill have some questions
Imagine the devs refusing to answer mails that try to fix the matter but allow this shit:

The harassment truly has got to come to an end. I don't even understand why people do this. You're not even there, you aren't around to defend yourself. Or I suppose they do it because they can get away with it? Thriving on controversy? I don't know. I want something to be done, so people know very well to not do things like this in the future. People saying baseless claims like this and getting away with it is a very bad precedent to have in your community.

What make me sad is how most of this shitty drama could have been prevented simply by talking to the devs, but they always refused Rothary and my demands by hosting us. I dont know why. I suppose they believe the best way to deal with an issue is go ignore it. I sent them an email to ask if there was any way to avoid EA ban and finally have a good and true talk through discord. No answer, as usual. Sound like a lack of maturity to me. Very clever.
